I'm going to be able to treat myself later in the year. Previous major treat was about 8/9 years ago when I did the Supercar Challenge at Mallory Park with Everyman.

Last time I looked, the Jonathan Palmer day was recommended as the best day out; their website looks a bit easier to book yourself in a single driver these days too. They're a bit quiet on pricing though.... somewhere about £600-800 sound about right?

Or any serious alternatives? (Not F1.... I'm 6'4" and while I can force fit in many things, I don't think an F1 car is going to be one of them wink )

I did a JP day a couple of years back and thought it was awesome and would recommend it to anyone who can afford it as the ultimate day out.

Eight drives, no limits and pushed for pace all the way, Palmers is still the kiddie.

Best I've done by a long way. Others have had all kinds of nannying, stupidly low revlimits, whole thing set up to make sure you're nowhere near the limits so that any plonker who's never driven anything faster than his company Mondeo would be able to get round OK. Palmersport have instructors who are there to push you to get the best possible lap times, in as short as a space of time as possible - the brake override for the instructor can work both ways, they can come off the brakes for you (if you keep braking too early) as well as apply them!

The full day is great but they offer half days and evenings now for £355+VAT. Most permutations of that get you drives in the JP1 and Formula Jaguar which are really what you're there for anyway. Very tempted to return this year for another go.

It'd be the full day wink

The only place I've found myself seriously restricted (apart from past the pit lane) was a Ferrari day at Thruxton.... the instructer wasn't too pleased about me picking up the inside rear wheel through the Complex smile .... but then I'm not that fast normally compared to many so maybe it's mostly my lack of cojones!

i'm very tempted by the forumla jaguar half-day, but the dates only run to April - will there be more added later, or is that it?
