How do you remove this?

How do you remove this heat shield? It appears to be held on with pop rivets but there are many of them, top and sides?

The heat shield is pop riveted to the chassis via the rivets on the bottom of the shield (you can see the box section they are riveted to in your photo). Drill out all the rivets along the bottom left and right.

Yeah, just remove the side pop-rivets.

Check your handbrake cable while you have it removed.

I replaced my rivets with self tap screws. Makes life in the future a lot easier if you plan to get your hands dirty more.

Stainless ones?

I'd reckon stainless ones would be essential as normal mild-steel ones would rust and be harder to remove than the pops.

Dab of copper slip before fitting will sort that.

I doubt it will.

The heads will rust and as soon as you put a screwdriver on them they'll break up.
