Hi folks !

Just wondering if anybody could recommend a 'Specialist' TVR garage near to Stoke or Crewe for general servicing etc?

At the moment I'm undecided whether to make the trip to Coventry or if there are any 'Decent' local alternatives...

Many Thanks
Dan

I think Peter Smith sports cars in Burton-On-Trent can service them but I have never used them myself, Though they will be used to TVR's having sold them for many years.

mmmm, Thanks alot for that, but apart from a less than pleasant experience when I met Mr Smith, I've also heard a few things that make me think I should be looking to spend my hard earned elsewhere...

RVT have serviced mine the past 2 years. Ian's a nice guy but it all seems very disorganised. I have never got my car back when we agreed. Last service I was there till 11pm finishing off the service with him and putting my car back together. Needless to say my misfire hadn't been fixed and I had to buy a new barometer and fit afterwards.
It is very handy having him up the road but sadly am looking for a more professional outfit for my next MOT and Service. I haven't got the time to be messed around.

I used to use Ian at torque Rvt and he is a very very nice guy... But he is incredibly disorganised.. The final straw was waiting till 2.30 in the morning for my car to be finished when it was supposed to of been ready hours earlier.
I now use Track V road in clitheroe... Its a bit of a trek but its well worth the journey as them guys are absolutely fantastic ! Their attention to detail and knowledge is incredible... Try them once and you wont go anywhere else.

Yes, Ian @ Sportmotive is both good for mechanical and bodywork. I've used him with no regrets. Also handy as he is 2 miles down the road.
I've also used Ian @ RVT, great guy, great coffee and he knows his stuff, but yes Ian, you do need to get more organised yes. Unfortunately I think Ian treats it more as a hobby than a business.

I would suggest have a run out to both of them driving, have a chat with them, have a look at their respective workshops and make your choice.

I have just dropped mine off at STR8SIX. The comments from PH Members swayed it for me. Jason seems a sound guy he ran through the very comprehensive 6k service and what to expect and when. Discussed Throttle bodies etc... so I am hoping for a major difference when I pick it back up again next week. Already getting excited!!
