I've seen this subject mentioned once or twice, but no recommendations have surfaced as clear winners; 123Send get a few mentions and despite the discount I get via the FSB, I still think the charges are quite heavy for limited or low use.

Can anyone recommend a mobile (card) payment facility?

Going the virtual terminal route isn't really what I'm after, but one that provides a merchant number, terminal(s) for hire or purchase; back up / service, receipt paper supply etc etc but don't cane you for the privilege.

I vaguely remember somebody on PH mentioning and recommending some kind of a PAYG deal with, IIRC Alcatel handhelds?

Another recommendation which I'm looking at is this.

Opinions and suggestions, please.

TIA.

Hi, are you looking for a mobile terminal which will be based at a premises (restaurant / bar etc) or a fully mobile terminal which will work anywhere?

If it’s the latter, these guys are top notch –
