So are you a fair weather BBQ'er or does the weather not matter?

Papoo is excluded as I don't think he knows what snow is

I don't need a vitamin to know what cold is.

Oh you mean that Actimel advert where the old people are having a BBQ in the snow and the neiboughs think they have been on the sauce. Exactly my point, peope think your mad for BBQing in the snow.

We used to have these in the Antarctic because we could. Crap, crap, crap - food goes cold almost instantly, can't use plates as they turn "almost instantly cold" to "instantly cold", stand around trying to stay warm while eating tepid food at best. The icy cold beer just takes the piss, instead of being refreshing it just adds to the ordeal.

I voted no.

We had a new years BBQ for 2008-9, being drunk and cooking over open flame is awesome I tell thee, awesome!

Also had chicken breasts in foil being cooked in the chimena (sp) and ribs being cooked on top of it. All topped off with toasted Marshmallows.

Following on from this weekend's barbecue, I'd definitely do it now. In fact, I'm going to make a specific point of doing it. fk the neighbours, I really couldn't care less if they think I'm weird. They already caught me popping outside for a smoke on Friday night singing My Way (badly).

My kitchen doesn't have extraction and since the whole gaff is open-plan, anything smelly will stink the place out for days. BBQing is a necessity, all year round.

The only arse-ache is finding charcoal in winter. On Papoo's advice, I trawled garden centre sales in the autumn and stocked up. smile

I did a trawl in October, but almost all had declared that BBQ season was over, so had nothing. The only places I found that had stock in November was Secretts (who have so much space that it looks they where going to keep their BBQ section there all year round) , and The BBQ Shop - there is one not to far from you MC.
