Hi All, as an expensive christmas present I got my girlfriend some F1 tickets for the big British GP weekend, strange but she is a massive fan as am I. I went for the Abbey stand as thats all my budget could stretch to which is still over £300 not including hotel, travel and the £25 parking. Ive only just read on the site about the developments which ive found a bit shocking. Could anyone tell me if this will absoloutely ruin view points from this stand? Im really pissed off as unless you search for it you wouldnt know about this change and when i was buying the tickets back in December it sounded like a great location from the info provided with no comment of a change which I find is really misleading.

That map doesn't seem to be quite correct.

The artist image isn't an accurate representation anynmore, based on the aerial shot provided. There're now 3 corners in this complex, instead of the illustrated 2.

Gonna make for much heavier braking.

Anyone know when it's open for trackdays (if not already)?

Many thanks,
Scott

The photo shows the area of the new corner ie thats most in field top centre on the map. The map shows a simple hairpin left, the photo shows a right, left, left. I assume the map is an old one or that theres more track to be added. The run off for the left sections appears to be quite large.

Cheers for the info y2. Could be one of the first to use that layout. Goldtrack don't appear to be doing one until May 18th.

Back on track (NPI) - I think the new layout is better than the artists impression.

Does anyone know what is happening with the International and National layouts?

not alot as you can see for the National.
still not decided about the Inter I dont think... we shall wait and see I guess!

Looks awesome though, wonder how different the ards test will be now because they used to run backwards up the inter straight so now there will be loads more corners to play on!!

IIRC the international is no more, the national circuit has an option to run a slightly longer layout using the bit after maggots and becketts.

Also I think Southern circuit will be available for racing, using the first part of the new areana straight.

Can anyone shed some light on the impact to Abbey as everything seems pretty sketchy at the moment, at a push i guess i could talk to the credit card company as the service will differ from the one paid for but then if i wasnt going id be as, if not more disapointed.

Hopefully this helps:

Farm/Abbey grandstand is in the bottom left of the picture. You're not going to see as much as you would if the GP was being run on the Bridge GP Circuit, but I don't think the view will be that bad. If you have three day tickets you can sit in any 'open' grandstand around the circuit on Friday and Saturday.
