Just checked out the classified and was suprised to see how many Z4MC's there are for sale. I have never seen this many available... is this a sign of the times or is there something i don't know!

Interesting to contrast it against how few Z3MCs there are in the classifieds!

It's that John Major exterior colour choice that would put me off more than anything.

The Z4MC is one of my favourite designs from recent years, and to spoil it in battleship grey seems such a shame. I'll have mine in black with red leather and CSL rims please. cloud9

I've noticed this too, there's over 20 for sale on PH at the minute. There are however only 7 listed on the BMW site through the approved dealer network.

Most Z4MC's were produced in 2007, so are just coming out of warranty or to the end of finance agreements, hence the private sales ... maybe?

I think it looks best in Sliver Grey. You lose the lines on the darker colours.

I'd normally agree 100%, however it might just be the "plank" design of the Z4 dash that means that it is much less offensive than normal. I'm not saying that it is the option tick box that I would have selected, however doesn't look too bad in a Riva Aquarama kind of way ...... Anyone know whether that is "real" wood? Obviously unlikely to be a machined / sanded plank (I'm sure there must be a more technical name for a piece of wood in the upholstery world), but be nice if it were a piece of quality veneer, and not just a piece of swirly brown plastic.

I have to admit for such a boring colour it does seem to suit the car there is definitely less need for CSL wheels on the grey ones.

I could be persuaded out of mine, hasn't got logic 7 but does have a 180gig phatnoise harddrive in the boot which integrates seamlessly with the standard head unit. Carbon Black, 2 tone anthracite and stone interior (all black was too dark for me) Nav, PDC, Piano Black dash, all services done as they should be currently on 35K, and an unmarked set of CSL's. March 11th 2007, so if you're quick you could even extend the warranty (I personally wouldn't), freshly MOT'd today. Sadly I'm not using it much at the moment, but if it's silly money you're thinking I still like looking at it everytime I go in the garage.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get this installed, and what did it cost?

Installed it myself, plugs in instead of the disk changer. Nice bit of kit, has every album I own on there, random play etc. Kenwood made a similar device, you can find them on eBay, not sure if they're sold retail anymore.

Had one in my Alpina and took a while to source this one.

Think its just that a lot are coming up 3 years and i imagine there are a few hefty balloon payments due soon, that and a few people who don't to pay for an extended warranty... make the most of the market and grab a bargain, won't last long and they are well worth what they're going for at the moment !

makes me love my Z4MR all the more - 21K miles done in 18 months.... Insp 2 at 46K coming soon in 2.8K.
Its a keeper for the next 3 years at least....I'll just grin and bear the warranty... getting a new set of rear springs done next week (don't all Z4Ms need this wink )... and the O2 sensor work in autumn covers the cost...
