Looks like my small leak has got worse so it looks like it needs doing.
I have a few questions for ya all:
Is there any upgraded gasket (or should I just used new std ones).
Should I upgrade the head bolts?
While the head is off is it worth doing any thing else like valve springs (if so any idea where and what to get also cost).
Its a 2.5 by the way.
Cheers

make sure the valves are lapped in/ fit valve rubbers / fit uprated valve springs
maybe a set of cams at the same time ?
(you could investigate reconnecting the ST24 variable inlet valve and getting the ecu to activate it)
Don't want to go mad. One day I will overhall the engine and strengthen it for more power.maybe a set of cams at the same time ?

I would assume doing this stuff can be done then but is any of this essential while the heads are off taking into account getting the engine out for upgrades one day?
Whats this variable inlet valve then?

Just been doing a bit of reading.Seems that its only worth changing the spring if running higher power. Am I not right in thinking the M400 had valve bounce but thats a 400bhp car so would itreally be required.
Sounds like gas flowing the head (although this needs to be done based on the engine set up or it can rob you of power)
Whats this making sure the vavles are lapped in? is this only linked in with the gas flowing as surely they are seating fine based on the current performance of the car.

Well the standard springs in my m400 met their limit at 450 bhp so if your aiming higher than that you should get them upgraded, ill be doing it.Sounds like gas flowing the head (although this needs to be done based on the engine set up or it can rob you of power)
