Did anyone else receive that text message that's doing the rounds claiming that Jon Venables' identity is now known?
Well, much as it may disappoint some, it's grade-A BS. In fact, it's the second time round for the poor sod concerned:

I seem to recall an incident years ago where a paediatrician was attacked by the baying mob who couldn't draw the distinction between his profession and "paedophile"...

Great. So we'd get to pay for a whole new identity, relocation etc...Plus people who had known him under this identity would then be running around selling photos/descriptions of him to the press, which would hiding him in the future that bit trickier!

The journos at the moment are trying their hardest to have him cleared of everything with all their coverage.
Although that will result in another story for them to write about how the system is shocking.
