Car Collecting and Tuning Game for PC

I enjoyed the car collecting, huge range of cars of all ages, specs and tuning aspect of Gran Turismo 4 when I had a PS2. What is the good game for the PC that best does this type of thing?

The actual racing side of it doesn't need to be the best

All you really have on the PC are the old NFS games. I would say Shift is probably the best of the bunch.

Other than that your really stuck with Forza...the original one.

Test Drive Unlimited sort of fits the bill.

GT Legends is an ace game/sim for PC. It only has touring & sports cars from the 60s/70s, but you can earn money and buy cars. Tuning is possible, although is more about adjusting settings than bolting on turbos etc., so takes a while to get into. The handling is fantastic too!

It's much more of a sim than GT4 or TDU, and has limited number of cars but thought its worth mentioning as it kept me occupied for a long time!

Sounds like the OP is looking for something more like TDU. It's good for collecting cars, but crap to drive compared to the sims.
