I am trying to find a supplier or even equipment that can produce “deep etched” sign plates, relief etched removing approximately 1-2mm of material, on small signs plates up to larger ones around 0.5m square.

So the end result looks like a cast architectural sign, ie in zinc or bronze. Not simply a fine surface etch as used in for printed circuit boards etc.

Unless there is another process that would produce the same result?

Been really struggling on this one so thought I would try here!

I have been out of the steel industry for the best part of ten years now so have lost all of my contacts.

Try spark erosion industries, there are lots of die / mould makers, should have some spare capacity.

Give Mockridge labels a ring. They don't sell the equipment but I'm fairly sure they produce etched signs.

Ask for Mike Graham.

I'm having some samples made for one of my customers at the moment. Mine are stainless plates and will be filled with black paint after deep acid etching. Try www.mercuryphillipssigns.co.uk
