Evening All,

What wire should I be using to run behind the walls between wall plates to connect a subwoofer up to the amp? I can only seem to find ready made leads - and bloody expensive ones at that - rather than cable.

It's a single connector sub-woofer, not a double, for sake of clarification.

Perfect, thanks. Beats the stupidly expensive ready made stuff! How much difference can it possibly make to a bass signal anyway?

I've not chased mine in yet but I wondered the same thing.

Currently using a basic one and it's fine. Quality speaker wire I can buy into becasue it's carrying an amplified signal but the sub is line level. How can it be optimised for low frequencys?

Genuine question btw, if you can convince me it makes a big enough difference...

I reckon shielded cable makes a huge difference in mine, but then the area where it lays is electrically "busy". There was so much noise using an cheapie unshielded interconnect that the sub wasn't going to standby.
