E46 M3 Tyre Wear
Discussion
I started a topic on this subject ages ago and have realised that I did not update it once the issue was solved. I was seeing excessive tyre where on the M3 but evenly across the tyres. It turned out that the geometry was way off as discovered by my local tyre fitters with use of a decenht laser allignment machine. The point I wanted to raise here though, as a warning to others, is that the adjusters on both the track rod arms at the front and the camber bolts at the rear were totally seized. The camber bolts were freed up with penetrating oil but new track rod arms were required as the old ones were locked solid. Now before anyone suggests that I maintain the car better, this is a BMW Approved Used vehicle with full service history and low mileage for it's age. Keep an eye out for this one when buying an E46 M3...
