Some fantastic images but I can't help feeling no matter how good the shots are using "three gyro stabilizing mounts" is cheating slightly. If he'd have said he shot them hand held then that would be a different ball game.

I'm sure half the people on here could produce these "amazing" shots with access to a whole range of helicopters, with or without x number of stabilizers.
I think this is a case of the Emperors clothes.
If I took those pictures, no one would blink an eye.

I would be inclined to agree. A friend of mine took some great ones over London when we were doing some aerial filming last year. He just (!) had a Nikon VR lens and shot through the windows (the cameraman and pilot wouldn't have been impressed had he opened the door!), but the results were very impressive.

The vibrations from a heli, as I'm sure you're aware, make some kind of stabilisation fairly important, especially when shooting at night. However, it seems that stabilised lenses are generally up to the job, although presumably (and I've not tried), they do have some limitations.
