Lost all my songs/iTunes library, but they're all still on my iPod.
Discussion
Hi. My computer just buggered up and I've had to rebuild it. This means I've lost all the songs that were stored on my computer.
As I haven't downloaded iTunes again yet and haven't synced (sunk?), all the songs are on my iPod (Touch 2nd gen).
Is there a way of transfering the songs from my iPod to my computer? These are not songs that I've paid for (
), so will I have all of the artwork that I've got from google? And will all the song settings be the same (Artist, Album etc.)
Anyway, my biggest concern is getting all of my songs back onto my computer. Is it possible??

Typical iTunes nonsense. Your ipod should be able to appear as a normal drive and allow you to drag and drop the music files into another folder ......... oh, I forgot, you're locked into the Apple marketing trap. Good luck.
You're not locked into anything. iTunes is organised using a library, and is done from a central location. Hence all your data is on the computer, not like other players that are essentially an external hard drive. The issue here is fEdited by Silver993tt on Wednesday 10th March 14:58
kwits who don't back up their data. Remember that not all your music may be on the iPod, and you may have a bunch of movies, TV shows, audiobooks, apps, etc, on iTunes, and NOT on the iPod, therefore iTunes is the important bit for date, as should be the pc in general. You can blame iTunes if you want, but it just makes you look very short-sighted.
