Last chance to tax the rich, or setting out Labour's plans once they retain control after the election? wink

Huge great mess that the next lot will have to undo, making greedy, ignorant people shout at the TV whilst Labour jeer from the opposite side.

If I was CMD, I'd pull out of this election.

Notice who announced it? Brown, not Darling. When Brown was Chancellor, he wouldn't let Blair even see the budget until it was printed. That tells us all we need to know: Brown is going to make it a free money for Labour voters splurge with higher taxes for the rest of us.

Little surprised they are having a budget before the next election. It is another time when dire deficit figures will dominate the news.

I suppose it is a chance however for Labour to continue its scorched earth strategy and ramp up spending even more on special interest groups while further trying to penalise the business people who are our only chance for growth.
