Not making too much use of Sky over what a Humax PVR type box could do (generally record BBC HD, C4 HD, and about time I stopped watching The Simpsons anyway). One question, with a non subscription box would I still get any Eurosport channels, Men & Motors, and Motors TV, or are there through Sky only?
many thanks

I found this website quite useful:

Still get M&M but not Eurosport. Most of the channels are a bunch of pointless sh*te (just like Sky) but you're saving a few hundred notes a year...

And take good notice of this -
"After cancellation is complete (in 30 days), your Sky subscription will be downgraded to Sky Freesat. As an existing Sky TV subscriber, your existing Sky viewing card will automatically become a Sky Freesat viewing card at the end of your contract term."
Some websites tell you that you have to ring sky and pay £20 for a freesat card, not so, I now have two cards that do exactly the same job, what is annoying is (other than adding the freesat channels to you favourites) that i can never remember which are sky ones and which are free.

So unless they come & grab the box back from us, would I still get BBC HD & similar using it?"After cancellation is complete (in 30 days), your Sky subscription will be downgraded to Sky Freesat. Would the box still recieve BBC & C4 HD?"After cancellation is complete (in 30 days), your Sky subscription will be downgraded to Sky Freesat. As an existing Sky TV subscriber, your existing Sky viewing card will automatically become a Sky Freesat viewing card at the end of your contract term."

Suppose there's only 1 sure way to find out!
If you go to Sky Freesat, you'll lose the recording function, which I presume you want. You will also lose access to programmes that you've already recorded.
A friend went to Humax. The interface takes a lot more getting used to, and there are some known bugs, but the trade off is that you save several hundred pounds a year.
Have a look here.
