Say you get hit by a bus tomorrow, whats going to happen to your facebook account? It would be sad to see an account of a friend thats not around any more everytime you log on. How would/does facebook deal with this kind of thing?

My friends bebo is still up and he died on oct 23 last year (only 17, hence the bebo) . so not much I imagine. if no one knows your password I doubt you could get it removed after you go.

If someone tells Facebook the profile can be 'memorialized', whatever that means. http://blog.facebook.com/blog.php?post=16309104213...

You can download the Afterlife application that allows you to keep people up to date. For example:
Joe Bloggs is being eaten by worms
Joe Bloggs should have specified cremation as burial is really boring
Joe Bloggs is disappointed to discover that there IS a God, just not the one he spent his life worshipping

Great. I'm going to have CVM 'memorialised'. And Cotty too, as I'm fed up with all his mafia wars updates.

What if they had Caravan Wars? Would you play that? Perhaps it would involve firing thermos flasks out of your wee plastic windows, using a modified primus stove?

I have seen accounts for people who have died, they just remain as they stood. Some had RIP where people have written on them.

One was a PHer actually :S It was there for sometime, I decided to delete him eventually which felt awful to do but seemed pointless.

Do you have to use a Derek Acorah App to send dead friends messages on Facebook?

One of my friends died, I deleted him - it seemed wrong to have it pop up occasionally.

How does Facebook ascertain that facts, otherwise you could play a cruel joke on friends by telling FB that "John" has been stabbed by his OH?

If it's a hotmail account, I believe they are deleted if they arent used for a certain period of time?

Maybe its the same with facebook?
