IE8 add ons not working and forgets where I have been !

I am using IE8 and havent changed anything. On my logon I am suddenly finding that it doest remember whee I have been/what I have looked at (cookies perhaps) . As an example, here on PH when I have read a thread it changes colour. But if I go back later its gone back to blue so I cant immediately see which threads I have already looked at.

On my wifes login (same PC) she keeps getting a message in the top bar in yellow 'internet explore is running with add ons disabled' (I dont get this message on my logon). I keep enabling it and have tried changing security settings but next time she logs on its been disabled again grrr.

Any ideas ?

Please dont suggest firefox, chrome etc - I'm happy with IE8 I just want it to work the way is used to....

ETA oops fixed the first one (where it forgets where I have been). Kids have been on PC and ticked 'delete history on exit' . Little monkeys I thought I'd checked all the settings but only just found that.

So that just leaves the 'add ons ' issue

I can't remember how the add-ons work, but the only real solution is to disable or uninstall them all and then enable or reinstall them one by one until you've isolated the problematic one. Could be a reinstall of each add-on will solve the problem anyway.

What addon is disabled?

under tools/manage add-ons you should be able to enable/disable any add-on
