This looks like a really interesting programme:

John Lewis TV documentary starts tonight on BBC Two.

LONDON - 'Inside John Lewis', a three-part fly-on-the-wall documentary showing middle England's favourite department store getting to grips with the recession and developing its lauded Christmas ad campaign, begins tonight on BBC Two.

The series focuses on John Lewis' stores in Cardiff, Bristol and Newcastle. Managing director Andy Street, recently-promoted director of marketing Craig Inglis, and members of the account team at incumbent ad agency Adam & Eve all feature in the series.

The first programme at 9pm tonight examines the effect of the recession and asks whether its business model can remain intact in face of the worst financial pressure it has ever experienced.

It also looks specifically at the brand's 'Never Knowingly Undersold' proposition, and whether it remains relevant to today's consumers. John Lewis re-launched the slogan with a £1m ad campaign last year.

Another programme will follow the development of John Lewis' Christmas ad campaign, which featured a version of Guns N' Roses' 80s rock hit 'Sweet Child o' Mine'.

They wouldn't price match on a TV with a Richer Sounds shop within 5 mins walking distance. Difference was £350 and the RC TV was in stock and came with a 5 year guarantee (£500 saving without it). They made up so many excuses it was pathetic. They couldn't even be bothered to go overto RC to check.
