Front disks and pads (XJ8) £350

Does £350 to supply and fit front disks and pads at an indy on an XJ8 (non Brembo) sound expensive?

If so how much and which make would be reasonable?

It doesn't sound expensive to me.......it sounds exorbitant!

The last set of disks for my XK8 were £80 delivered and a further £30 or so for pads. (I'm pretty sure that they're the same as XJ8). That was for Mintex by the way - though I'm not sure that they're the premium make that they once were.

I'd be amazed if it took anyone more than half an hour to do both sides. Call it an hour if you wire brush the caliper etc before re-fitting.

My Independant Tom at TLJaguar would do that for you at £200 +VAT

Are you looking to upgrade to Brembo's or just new disks n pads
If upgrading do you want new or a good set of second hand

Thats a joke just done an XK8 for just over £220 inc Labour rear pads and VAT

When i said i wasnt happy about that price (£350) it suddenly became doable for £250.

The same place had just tried to charge me £25 a litre instead of the £13 quoted when i went in to settle my bill for the gearbox flush i had just had done.

I will now have the other bits done elsewhere.

It's a shame because i had high hopes for that place.
