Good Tapas Restaurant Near Leicester Sq in London??
Discussion
Can anyone recommend any? Going out with the GF tonight and she's never had it before. Thought it might be a good opportunity to try something a bit different! So bit of a longshot, but does anyone on here know any particularly good ones?
This one looks good so far:

There is a La Tasca near Covent Garden. They are a chain, not bad but a bit average if you are trying to impress. You can find them through http://www.latasca.co.uk/locations/
For more impressive, but a little further away, try Brindisa near Borough Market. Walkable distance if the weather is nice, cheap enough in a cab: http://www.tapasbrindisa.com/. Do book.

Haven't been there myself but my mate recommended it. Very good value apparently.

This one is close by and is a bit more upmarket, again haven't been there but had it recommended.

Walkable? It's three miles, and it's 2 degrees tonight, what do you suggest a Sherpa? For more impressive, but a little further away, try Brindisa near Borough Market. Walkable distance if the weather is nice , cheap enough in a cab: http://www.tapasbrindisa.com/. Do book.

Perhaps a little far, but I've always liked Maison Don Felipe in The Cut by Waterloo station.
JAYB is 100% correct. Of course, you may struggle to get a table at short notice, but you can always wait at the bar and enjoy the quality live music provided by the small man sitting on the shelf above the kitchen door. 8)Thanks guys, we're not looking for anything too upmarket as we're off to the Comedy Store afterwards so its a pretty chilled out night but some decent food would be good. La Tasca I've had mixed feelings about in the past. Sometimes its great, others not so much. Thanks for the suggestions though, I'll have to give those ones over by London Bridge/Waterloo a try another time, but they're a little out of the way as we'll be in Leicester Sq already (easy place to meet).

+1 for Tapas Brindisa. The do the most FANTASTIC mandarin-stuffed Gordal olives.
It is always full, so booking is good advice, but unfortunately they do not take bookings so you can't.

Not exactly Tapas, but the Cork and Bottle wine bar do excellent food and nibbles, is right next to Leicester Square and surprisingly not at all touristy.
