Currently in a double...the boy wants a superking sized but I say a king sized would be big enough. So the question is, is a superking size worth it? (I am talking about beds....just to avoid any confusion smile )

Is he a fat knacker? Snores? Tries to invade 'your side' of the bed in Hitleresque expansionism?

A super king size bed is a great thing to have, but you'll be restricted in the choice of duvets and linens for it.

These will also cost a fortune.

Thats free floor space with nothing in the room. Theres a little extra space by the window too, probably an extra 2 feet but only about 8 feet wide. I think you are right, it will just be too huge - no idea why he wants one (I'm really hoping its not to remind him of a brothel!) other than he just likes the idea of a really huge bed! He is 6ft4 and built like proverbial brick house, so a standard double is a bit small really when its both of us. I think a king will provide enough extra bed room without imposing too much on the rest of the room.

Unless i am mistaken, the superking will be the only one he can actually stretch out on if he is over 6ft.

It's not just about girth smile

He prefers stealth tactics such as waiting till I go for my 3am loo, then rolls over to my side and becomes a dead weight when I try to shift him! A sharp kick in the shins usually suffices though.

My bedroom is 15' x 16' and we have a Superking. It is the best thing ever. Both of us can sprawl without annoying the other. I can sleep undisturbed when my wife, two cats and 10 month daughter are also in the bed. The cats stay over my wifes side as it is too far for them to be kicked off.

I know, once he even broke it because it was too long... (I've got one of those ridiculously girly twirly wrought iron beds and he got his foot caught in while asleep, tried to pull it out and broke his toe! Oh how I laughed)

You will never say "Damn, this bed's just too big" if you get a Superking.

You might regret it if you only get a king size though.

1/3 of your life in bed with that dead weight, go large.

Hmmm that does sound nice...trying to squeeze between the cat, a particularly tubby staff and a bloke is not fun!

King = adequate. Superking = you could get lost in it. Much better with the latter.

Get a superking, you'll love it. Now that they are becoming more popular, the bedding is hardly any more expensive than kingsize
