Hi, I have a cold water tank in a small room in the hallway.

Whoever has put it there has simply nailed two bits of wood either side of the tank into the wall, and placed the tank on a piece of wood on top!

There is cracks appearing around the top corners of the plaster and around the top half of the door frame due to the weight of the tank.

I think the quickest fix will be a tank stand of some sort, but after searching the net all I can find is aquarium tank stands etc. Should a decent carpenter be willing to make a strong stand or does anyone know of any online supplyers?

If it is just a cupboard; perhaps some 3x2 timber between the underneath of the supporting battens and the floor will suffice. Oh, and 3x2 floor plates to spread the load more evenly.
