Do/Did you ever feel... Left behind?
Discussion
Over the last few days I cannot help but feel like I've been left behind in life. I know it seems odd, but I'm still young (19), living with mummy and have no real commitments. The absoultely biggest thing going on in my life right now is chucking all of my spare money at modifying a 21 year old French Hatchback, which I always thought was the normal sort of thing people my age should be doing. That and having retarded amounts of anonymous sex and drinking enough cheap, nasty alcohol to embarrass a sailor.
Anyway, today I've learned that a Girl I knew quite well is already engaged. She is 18 years old for feck sakes. 17 years old and settling down already.
My one (and only) friend has moved out with his girlfriend and they are expecting their first child with the few 2 months. They are 19 and 18 respectively.
Another guy I know from school is shipping out to Afgan to drive f
k-off sized APCs. He is 19.
People seem to have actual lives already, while I'll still earning minimum age, having mummy cook my dinners and spend my nights (and most days actually) w
king off at the thought of putting ITBs on a car that is older than I am.
I mean what the hell? Is it just society that is severely f
ked, or just me?

I like buttons - can't work those slidey touchy things. Apparently I'm so far behind the times I may as well not bother.
I'm 24.

Don't worry OP. You're a 'normal' 19 year old. Keep on tinkering with your car, always carry 'protection' when you're out sowing your seed and stay single and happy. And be nice to your mum.
Your life has barely started. Don't screw it up by taking steps which narrow your choices. Stay footloose and fancy free - both in matters of the heart and career.
But don't bury your head; always keep a look-out for the next opportunity. They are flashing by every day; most people miss them - try and catch one. And don't worry if it takes a year or three.

So your girly mate has roped down some guy, hoping that he's her night in shining armour and dreaming of that fairytail life together. Your mate has knocked up some bird and the other one has gone off to some "cool" job in Afghanistan.
Well in a couple of years your girly mate will be with child, divorced and on the doll living in some s
t council house. Your mate is already doing that but will seperate with the bird after she changes having had the kid, leaving another child to grow up without a proper father and him paying maintenance. The other guy will get shot.
At least thats out fairly typical society.
