How do I transfer my itunes to new laptop?
Discussion
As per title I have a new netbook & my old laptop is so slow i'd like to change my itunes to my new netbook without losing any music etc from my iphone. I believe you can only sync with 1 laptop so will I lose everything?
Sorry if simple answer but i'm used to using windows compatible items with drag & drop etc.

Do you have an iPod?
If so, then enable disk use - checkbox in the main display area when it's connected.
Copy the Library file (and Genius/Extras if you have used them) from the install path for the iTunes folder - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2279
Copy Album Artwork folder, and Applications (if you've an iPhone) as well.
On new PC, install iTunes, then replace the new files with those you've copied onto the iPod - launch after installing, then go into Options, and set the checkbox for "Prevent iPods & iPhones syncing automatically", before connecting the iPod.
Now, if all your songs are on the iPod, then Anapod or Sharepod (need to download either/both from Google or Versiontracker) will let you get them off, and you can put them in the Music folder within iTunes, or anywhere else on the drive you feel like - if you do the latter, you'll need to go back into Options, and Advanced, and then point iTunes to the folder where the songs are.
If your music collection is greater than the iPod's capacity, and you've no external drive to make use of, then you'll need to remove the songs from the iPod with iTunes on the old PC (uncheck the music selection in Music tab when it's connected). From that point on, the iPod is effectively an external drive, so copy the artist folders (just as you did the files above) via drag & drop, until you've them all moved over to the new PC.
Obviously, the same goes for movies/TV shows, if you've any of those within the iTunes folder.
After all that, launch iTunes on the new PC, let it index the songs, and then set up the iPod (and iPhone) as how you prefer.
One last thing, when you've got the last of your stuff off the old PC, be sure to Deauthorise it - if the PC is like the Mac's version, it should be under the Store menu.
If you haven't got an iTunes Store account set up, then you don't need to bother with this step.

Thanks for response but that looks really complicated for a computer numpty isn't there an easier way?
Have a look at this Apple KB article which may be useful.kippax said:

then restore onto the netbook.... or am i missing something..??
File... Library... Organise Library (Check both boxes)
This puts all your stuff in one convenient folder.
Copy this folder to your new netbook (just copy across your network or use an external HD) whichever way is easiest.
Install iTunes on new netbook and point it towards the iTunes folder you have copied over.
