The time has come to get my Tuscan 2 serviced. Purchased the car last summer and loving the experience, so now comes the time to pay for my fun!
Can anyone suggest a good place to get my car serviced and MOT'd? The last service was done at Taylor TVR in Maidstone, anyone had any experiences with them?
Any suggestions / advice gratefully received.
Thanks,
Tom

Taylor TVR, superb, can't praise them enough. Need a bit of notice as they're only small, but you'll be in good hands.

My recommendation? Take the A264 out to Crawley - and try Austec. I had my Cerbera looked after by them for a few years.

Depends whether you want to deal with a company with morales or not & can see through all the bullscensoredt......

It is not just a coincidence why there is a high proportion of Car Club members in both the East Sussex & South East London North West Kent regions that now use Dan Taylor thumbup

Personally I wouldn't use Austec, Taylor TVR have a great reputation and Dan does seem to know his stuff, but can be a little on the pricey side.

My money always goes to Andy at APM, he's a bit further away but does a good job and is very reasonable.

Taylor TVR...........not the cheapest but he is by far the best.

If you consider cheaper options, check point by point exactly what they do in the service and then speak to Dan. You will be amazed at what some garages miss out....hence their cheaper prices.

Thanks everyone. Your suggestions are really appreciated. Just booked her in with Taylor, hopefully should get everything sorted to enjoy over the Easter break. Will let you know how I get on.

Spent 4 hours with 2 different AA men yesterday but did get the car started in the end. First guy got the car running but it died as soon as i put the engine under load. Second patrol came and when we tried to start her again the imobilisor wouldn't switch off so had to jack the car up and tkae the wheel off to get to the battery and disconnect. Was a pain but they were very helpful (they must dread getting a call out to one of us!) and car was fine after being on charge overnight.
Just hoping i get her back from the service for Easter for some roof off fun.

Anything i should be asking Dan to check, over and above the normal service bits?

Picked up the Tuscan from Taylor TVR yesterday afternoon. All good, Dan explained the few things i needed to keep an eye on over the coming year. Only needed the steering rack gaiters replaced for the MOT. Even had a wash. And the price was much less than i had budgeted for (expected a few more "niggles" to be found). All in all, great service from a knowledgeable and helpful chap. Thanks for your recommendations.
Now we just need the sun to shine over the weekend!

I always look after the servicing on my Chim, but after 3 years of ownership and doing loads of stuff to the car, I asked Dan to give the car a good checkover just incase that I might of missed something, and also to do 4 wheel alignment and setup the Gaz dampers I had just fitted.
Really pleased with the work that they did, Dan pointed out quite a few useful things to keep an eye on that I was not aware of.
I thought thier prices were very reasonable considering his expertise.
