Uneven tyre wear

Checking my car over the weekend I noticed the front off side tyre had worn badly on the inside edge. I'm thinking this is the camber of the wheel possibly, but what could cause it. I have had the suspension refurbished all-round. Is this something that could be done at my tyre fitters, with their laser alignment or would it take a bit more. Is there something I need to look for on the hubs (cracking etc), hopping its just the tracking, your thoughts please.

Is it just literaly on the edge? or does the wear get progressively worse from the outer edge to the inner ?2.5bluenob said:

Is it just literaly on the edge? or does the wear get progressively worse from the outer edge to the inner ?Most likely the tracking is out with perhaps even toe out rather than toe in. I`d take it to a `good` garage who have laser alignment expertise to have it checked not a local tyre depot....
Does the car drive straight - is there any vibration or knocks from the suspension?
It would be worth checking the two small upper front aluminium blocks where the upper ball joints are located - see if there are any vertical cracks on the flat face that you can see.

Hi Bob, it was your thread that made me think about the cracks you mentioned. Have just booked it into South West Lotus Centre, they are our local Noble specialists and have lazer alignment, so will see what they come up with. The car drives straight with no vibrations and so I was shocked when I noticed the wear.Does the car drive straight - is there any vibration or knocks from the suspension?

Could still be too much toe out.

doesn't that promote understeer - or perhaps prevent oversteer ?
Toe out gives better inital turn in but may give slightly more understeer mid bend onwards so yes prevents oversteer mid bend onwards so I'm told...I'm not at the level where it makes much difference in the Noble but in the Evo it is noticeable.Makes the front a bit more tramline following though.

I find that reducing the amount of toe in at the rear helps greatly with turn in,and on the Evo which I have expiremented with quite a bit I only run 5 minutes toe in at the rear so enought to keep it straight under braking.
