I'm a relatively low usage person but quite fancy the idea of a Blackberry, especially with GPS.

The only downside seems to be the mid range and lower models still aren't 3G.

Are there any plans to introduce 3G to the other models yet?

My OHs 3 year old Sony Ericsson manages to be up to date...

I think the 8200? (pearl) onwards are either 2 or 3G. You just have to set the phone up to let it know which sigal it is looking for. To be honest I've had a bold 9000 mk1 for a few years now, originally it was on 2G sim card. Recently upgraded it to a 3G simcard and I haven't noticed any major improvement.

The new Bold is indeed a cracking bit of kit, battery lasts a long time too.

There's something wrong with it then, or you have a programme running down the charge.

I get 2 days of higher than average use between charges.

I suspect that I'm only an average user, but I get 2-3 days out of mine.

The big limiting factor on 3G performance is undoubtedly geographic location rather than the hardware.

battery life was short with justthe basic applications. Bluetooth seems to drain it much faster than on my old phone. Think I will ask for a replacement. battery life is about 24 hours of average use some talking some texting, lots and lots of emails
