If I was a gambling man (which I am not), and if Ladbrokes offered a price (which they will not), I could be tempted to wager a fiver on a European winner at Gainesville this weekend. I suspect a red car with an eponymous clutch may well give the colonials a real surprise...

I don't know about winning the event, but I suspect they're at least going to qualify well and go rounds, which should make people sit up and take notice.

Currently at number 4 with a 5.781 and Micke Gullqvist at number 5 in Pro Mod with a 5.933.

Looks like another weekend hitting the F5 button on the keyboard for me then.

Agreed Jon, but he's got a tough one next round assuming that there are no team orders...

The NHRA Results Service said:
(W) Todd Veney (Impala SS) 0.027 5.689 257.24
(L) Ulf Leanders (Charger) 0.089 5.805 247.84

Both drivers posted new career bests to qualify this weekend... Leanders started gaining on Veney for the first 200 feet, then Veney pulled steadily away from there. At the stripe Veney took the win by about four car lengths. Todd will have lane choice against De Joria in the next round.
"Strange" comment about Ulf's career best. I think I remember him posting a 5.66 about 4 or 5 years ago at the EuroFinals....

Id put money on them getting his name wrong, country of origin and just about everything alts they can.
heck Drag Race Online couldn't even tell the difference between Thomas Nataas and Andy Carter when it even had Andy Carter & the union jack on the side of the cockpit

OK, I admit I may have picked the wrong red car, and the wrong Swede, but anyway, GO MICKE!!

He's either very close to, or has already set and backed up the NHRA record too!
