Now, I admit that neither Mrs C or myself are dog people. Give us a beautiful cat any time.
However, my daughter seems to have set her heart on getting a dog 'for company.' She lives alone and works full time although the house has ample space and a well fenced garden for looking after an animal.
Chosen breed is a Bichon Frise and since I now consult the PH crew before taking any seious decision... Here I am asking if anyone has anything to say about this variety and dog ownership in general.
Reality is that the dog will probably spend as much time in our house as its own home and I am not keen on it wrecking our funiture and even worse the car interior. Between us we'll provide a good home and the dog will be idolised... Just not sure about things at this early stage.

i'm awaiting all the ghey comments anytime now but.....
Me and the Missus (yes a Mrs) have 4 Bichons. Probably one of the most chilled out breeds you can get to be honest. Hate being left on their own but they do travel well in the car etc.
Just so you know they are called......Rocky, Rambo and Crystal!!!!

Rule No. 1...... 'Write your headline to get attention!!'
Thanks for your interest. Ted, I'm glad to hear how you feel about yours. Any advice on choosing? Is there an 'owners' club?'
Yes, I would prefer that she found a boyfriend, that's for sure. 'Specially if he could maintain her car & house as well!
I suppose we are quite committed to this but a bit aprehensive. We live near, just a doggy walk away, and it's a case of overcoming problems. It's not ideal that she works full time but Mrs C and I are both working less hours now and that's the idea of the dog having two homes.
Does that work?
We will definately be taking on a couple of cats before this year is out. Do you think they will get on OK?
