Hiding AV speaker cables?

Home cinema setup is going in this weekend

I've done this before, but not for a long time. Is there an easy and/or better way of hiding the speaker cables than tucking them under the edge of the carpet?

I've got lengths of 6m and 9m cable for left & right speakers and a doorway to contend with...

You'd be surprised how unnoticeable box section plastic trunking is, the kind with the adhesive backing. Especially with light coloured walls. Cheap and easy.

I removed about 3 inches of underlay from around the edges, gives a nice tidy space to lie cables and carpet remains flat once put back in place

Yup.

I did it with less than three inches though, just cut a slit wide enough to fit the cables between the gripperrods and the edge of the underlay. Can't see a thing.

I would recommend if you are cornering to cut a curve though.

how do you refit the carpet to the gripper rod things ?

I ran mine behind the skirting boards, a neat solution but a little more work

I usually just use a butter knife to pull the carpet up and a gentle tap with a hammer to fasten it back down! Using the knife to push it back under skirting boards.

But i'm not a carpet fitter and a knee kicker may be a better solution...
