I was looking for a allergy test, so looked online for someone local. I found someone about a mile away and booked an appointment. I didn't ask in advance what method was to be used. When I got there the guy had me lie on his examination couch with my stomach bare. He then proceeded to apply sealed glass vials to my stomach and then ask me each time to pull my right knee towards my shoulder while he held onto it to measure resistance. If he 'detected' weakness then it was apparently a marker towards an allergy or intolerance. Then he would decide what I was deficient in and say out loud "1 Tablet between 7 & 9 AM" and test the leg for weakness. If perceived weak, he'd carry on with "2 Tablets between 7 & 9 AM" and so on, until he 'detected strength.

After his 'consultation' was over, he wrote me out a list of supplements to buy from his preferred supplier. I went home and looked it up on the net to discover that the cost of these would be £101 per month. This included taking 10 x B Complex capsules a day. That sounds excessive to me.

This cost me £45 and took about an hour. I don't believe a word of it and blame myself for not checking on his method when booking. I was interested in other peoples experience of these 'practitioners' because I reckon they'd have been burnt at the stake a few centuries ago!!

That guy sounds like a complete joker. I'm surprised he's even allowed to say he does allergy tests if that is his methodology.

Edit - just been reading on what a 'naturopath' is, and it appears to be quackery of the highest order.

Firstly: don't take offence at your choice of practitioner, you're only down 40odd notes....

but

Secondly: That's the funniest thing I've read on here for a long time!!

I might start including this in my practice!
