I've just started a new job and have been given a Dell Latitude E6400. sometimes when i'm moving my mouse over the screen it'll suddenly enter a mode where the text goes either very large or very small depending how far i move my finger on the touch pad. I have no idea how i get into the mode or indeed, out of it. This has just happened to me in Outlook and it's made all of my reply messages incredibly small (i can't even read the text now). Even after a re-boot of the system my reply messages have defaulted to this ridiculously small text.

If anyone out there can explain how I can get into this mode and out of it i'll be very grateful. Our IS department (in India) don't have a clue! They've logged a "ticket" for me so I will probably hear nothing for a few days!!

Help please.......

I think the middle mouse button will toggle this mode on and off. On my mouse pressing the scroll wheel turns this on and then the scroll wheel will increase and decrease the size of the font. Pressing the scroll wheel again (middle mouse button) will turn this mode off again.

Do you mean mouse or track pad?

Holding ctrl and use mouse scroll wheel will zoom in and out on most MS products.

On the DELL netbook i'm using now, the magnifying is caused when the pad detects two touches at the same time so it's either slightly dirty or you brush the pad with another finger.

Thank you guys - all sorted now. I've found out how to turn it off.
