Hi Guys,

I have just bought a 3r exhaust to fit to my 2.5 GTO.

Havn't had much of a look at it yet, but a guy suggested to me i might need a pipe from the turbo to the backbox?

Anyone ever made the change i am attempting and hit any problems?

Thanks
Steve

You have to use the original downpipe section from the rear turbo of the 2.5 system and mate it to the 3.0 system. Bondy has done it. The main thing is to get rid of the "Y" section from the 2.5 system that is a known restriction.

Yep thats right. how ever they did cut the exhaust and re join it again at the bend as it goes into the box. On the 3ltr there was a dent put in the exhaust around this area as it was close to a chassis bar (Noble engineering). I think my garage did the cutting so the dent wasn't required smile

I am just putting mine on for looks really rather than Power.

Love the look of the 2 pipes hanging out the back of the 3r smile

looks good! they are the same as the JNM tail pipes by the look of it, except the JNM's are slightly angled outwards instead of straight out the back.

My M12 2.5 was the design template for the "dent" biggrin

If you dont mind me asking what price have you paid for parts and labour. I do love the exhaust system on the 3 but decided on a 2.5

There the same as mine, I had to make some plates up to go on the undertray (just below the tail pipes) because the exhaust likes to burn it.
