It's because stupid people are too stupid to remember a URL. But give them a short word or phrase that means something to them, like "car loan" or "free government money" and google, and they're off!

Possibly because our cheapskate government won't buy www.climatechange.org.uk so say search on line for climate change which can then link to www.directgov.co.uk/climatechange
