Possibly going to inherit a bit of money and decided that rather than have it disappear on god knows what, I'm going to invest in a lovely watch.

I've admired the Chopard 1000 Miglia Gran Turismo XL for some time now since seeing one of the drivers in the Supercar Paddock wearing one at GFOS '08, so the time has come to be brave.

The model I want is like this one...

What I'd like to do is find somewhere that I can try one on, make sure I really really like it, and then do the rounds to get the best price. I would be happy to purchase used if in good condition and with full, proven provenance.

Fellow Lotus watch nuts have given me a fair bit of advice, one piece of which was to post up here and see if anyone had any leads or suggestions.

Thanks in advance thumbup

There's one on TZ-UK right now - private sale with all the paperwork, £2200.

Thanks tertius. I heard the same from someone from SELOC who's a member. Unfortunately I'm not so can't see it.

Meanwhile, a question for anyone who has one. How well do they cope as a daily wearer? If I'm spending out on something so lovely, I don't want to keep it under wraps all the time!

Great looking watch. You get a DVD about the Mille Miglia too.

I looked at a speed black one but found out it was the split second version which retails around 9k!!! There is also a titanium version too.

If you wanted to buy it from the high street, then I would suggest one of the Jewellers in Duty Free. I know for sure the shop in T3 at heathrow does chopard.

Send me a mail (or a u2u on SELOC, same ID) with your contact details and I'll put you in touch if you like.
