Cigarette Lighter

Are they all the same in that they don't take a 12V accessory plug?

Has anyone swapped theirs for a std socket?

I'm not sure which plug you are referring to but my lighter socket takes the standard adaptor for the conditioner (CTEK but I'm sure it is the same as the others).

A standard size cigarette lighter socket is standard and takes all of the usual accessory power plugs for chargers, Sat-Navs, MP3 players etc

The one I have in the armrest doesn't seem to take a Tomtom charger...unless I'm being a tit again (which is distinctly possible!).

Something that can happen is the sleeve can pull off the lighter itself and it stays in the socket which would make it appear smaller. (That happened on a car of mine years ago) If that's the case pull it out with a pair of pliers.

It doesn't seem deep enough and potentially too wide rather than narrow.

The cig lighter part seems normal too.

I'm probably being dumb - will check it out again later.

Foreign object stuck in bottom of socket. Managed to get it out and all is well.

To be fair it looked like it was part of the socket itself, hence the original question. Stuck my finger in and realised it moved slightly. Bit of blu-tack helped get it out (though I did think I was going to end up with even more foreign objects in there at one point!).

Don't smoke and no ashtrays in mine

Only need it for things like a satnav.
