Give the range of skills and professions, I thought someone may know.

I have some titanium that I would like to melt down (!) to create a ring but just wondering of whether this is possible.

Thanks in advance

titantium is a very reactive metal I thik you'll need an inert atmosphere or a vaccum over your melting pot to stop it getting full of oxide slag as you melt it. It also has a very high melting point. Good luck

Ti rings are so cheap you should just buy one. It would cost more to process the metal into a one off.

True, but these are spares (fastners) from a TSR2 bomber so not exactly something that can be easily obtained.

There are thousands of these fastners in existence (like small bolts) so don't worry, no unique parts will be melted.

I will drop Nightmare a line - thanks
