Looking to change the wife's car and just wondering what I'll likely be offered. It's a one year old Cooper with Chili Pack, Multi function wheel, Visibility pack and Mini TLC and has under seven thousand miles on the clock.

Sorry don't know much about coopers but our cooper s on an 08 plate is worth around 15k with 8.5k miles so I would imagine a cooper being around 10/11k at a guess

Would that be 13 grand from a dealer or private?

I'd have thought being 1 year old, you're looking at a loss of £4-£5 ground on the original purchase price depending on how lucky you are with punters biggrin

I was estimating a private sale price - based on the offers we have had from dealers, i imagine a dealer offer would bring you to tears - i would expect 12k ish

Saying that I may be way off - at the endo of the day its what someone will pay for it....

As per my comment in the other selling thread, I've just accepted a trade bid on my wifes car that is over £1k higher than the "Excellent" private book value. All depends on the spec IMO.

Did they see your PH ad or did you go asking for prices?

I didn't even bother advertising it privately, just px'd it in. Told them what I wanted (£11.5k) and they offered £11k. Phone round some MINI dealers to see if they are interested.

It's an R56 Cooper S, 2007 car on a 56 plate. Spec off the top of my head is: Astro black, Lounge leather, double sunroof, satnav, heated seats, chrome packs, piano black, tlc, warranty still running (everything except for the TV tuner and any JCW stuff, spec sheet is 5 pages long!)

It even had a cracked windscreen and a dent in when they gave me the price! Both are getting done on the insurance this week.

Sounds very similar to ours, just one yr older. 11k sounds low to me in all honesty? We've been offered 14.1k by a dealer in the last week, glad you are pleased with your deal though, good luck with your sale/purchase

I only paid £14k for it from BMW so I was OK with £11k tbh.

I think it was a case of right place/right time. A few days before the end of a Qtr, car was up at 15k, the wife wanted it so I offered them 14k there and then.
Glad to see the back of it really, quite a nice car but so little space inside when you consider the external dimensions. Also the ride is just terrible and the seats not very comfortable.
