Off-flash cable

I bought this the other week ebay link to use my 430 EX with my 50D, but it just doesn't appear to work (as a control popping the flash back on camera it works fine). I have gone through the manual to no avail, and prior to shipping it back, I thought I'd ask the oracle that is PH in case I'm missing soemthing.

As far as I can remember (it's been a long time since I used mine!), there's no setting to change to use it. It's just a matter of tightening the locks on both ends, so you may just have a faulty one.

Are you sure put it on the right way round?

Send it back - they should just work. Quality control could be one reason why an Ebay one is a fifth of the price of a Canon one.
