Griff not firing up - Immobilizer packed up?
Discussion
Haven't started the Griff (92 plate pre cat) in a while. Everything work OK but it dosen't fire up. I cannot hear the pump prime and the petrol gauge dosen't move which makes me think its the alarm / imobilizer jobbie.
When the alarm arms the doors lock but the indicators flash all the time.
Could it be the door contacts / corroded? would this cause the issue? Maybe the alarm thinking the door is open???

Battery replaced not long ago and is fine. Fully charged.
Car turns over strongly but the pump is not priming or firing. Also as mentioned the petrol gauge does not move (might be one of the early Griefs with the petrol pump and petrol gauge wired into the immobilizer loom.
Took off both door switches and cleaned and put back on. No difference. Took alarm siren apart and there was some water inside but dried out and still no difference.
When the alarm is set it triggers and the hazards flash. Cannot find what is triggering it and I am thinking that its this that is cutting the power to the gauge and the pump?
Called Karl Baker and her suggested replacing the two metal ignition relays (the ones with the red stripes) but this would not trip the alarm surely?
Any other ideas?

I had a similar problem two weeks ago. Alarm would arm disarm but fuel pump would not prime. Thought it was imobiliser malfunction. Replaced the ignition and fuel pump relays ( Bosch items 30 amp with red diagonal stripe ) and started first time.I Keep a spare in the glove box now as apparently these relays were always kept in stock by dealers as prone to ' Sticking '. Hold onto each relay as you turn ignition on and listen/feel for a click. If no click happens then try the replacement. Good luck.
Thanks.
I was sort of thinking of replacing these. The siren did have a bit of water in it also so dried that out, but the hazards still don't stop flashing when the doors are locked.
I have the battery on a good charge tonight so will try in the morning just in case.
I have had the door switches in bits as well today just in case it was these playing up triggering the alarm all the time.

Do you know the type of Immobiliser/alarm fitted? Could be any one of many things triggering the alarm. Do you have boot bonnet microswitches, one could be faulty. Or maybe the Micowave motion detector under the whale tail. If it is a Meta unit you could try disconnecting the immobiliser from the alarm control box (both behind the dash) and operating the immobiliser from the dongle thing on the steering column, if this starts the car then at least the immobiliser bit is OK.
Tried that also with a full battery.
Did try swapping the fuel pump relay and the ECU relays over and now I have the stepper motor sound but still no pump priming.
The hazards still flash continuiously when the alarm is armed. Really annoying now.
I will try replacing both relays and see what happens. Also tried fiddling with the inertia switch behind the glovebox and still now't.

BANZAI !
Swapped out one of the 30A ignition relays and presto! Bloody TVR's weird as fish. But I love 'em.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. That Karl Baker dude also mentioned the first thing is to check the microswitches in the doors as these corrode and to swap the relays out. Just in case anybody else has the same issue. He also quoted for new system....ouchy! Top bloke though.
