Water in sink is going down very very slow, so there must be some sort of blockage.

So i removed all those white U pipes, thinking the problem would be in there, but it's not, it's in this last bit going into the wall :

Tried Bleach over night, boiling water with some salt and other weird internet tips and just bought one of those spring spiral drain cleaner from B&Q and it goes it quiet far but it hasn't made any difference.

Is there anything else i can try or does this look something a plumber need to sort out ?

Put all the pipework back on and get a BFO plunger on it, that should do it smile

diy shops sell them pump up guns that fire a slug of water and air down, that'll sort it. £20 IIRC

Caustic soda and then a plunger etc. should sort it if you put it back together.

I spotted your electric razor, do you empty it down the sink? if so this will create a blockage causing the water to drain slowly, try poking the wire brush cleaner back up toward the plug hole from underneath and see what happens (used to happen to my sink so I now empty my electric razor in to the toilet)

Does the pipe exit through the external wall? If so, there might be a rodding eye (screwed on cap) on the pipe outside. If there is you'll be able to find out how far the blockage goes and be able to rod it from there aswell.

wasn't it one shot? or i might be thinking of something else.
either way, it's high conc. sulphuric acid, be careful, but it'll get through anything, including corneas and hands

In my experience, any bathroom blockage issues that cannot be solved with Mrs Zep's toothbrush require a call to a professional.

Additionally Medic One, I've just spotted the standard issue green forcepy things that come in those dressing packs. I'll bet the single bed in the spare room is a stretcher? And all your bedding is green with 'NHS' stamped on it in red? I'm on to you.

Plunger works for me. Mine is like a 12" tall giant syringe; you fill the sink with water, fill the syringe/plunger, then blast it down the tubes.

remember to cover the overflow when you use a plunger.

Problem solved!

Got some mr muscle sink unblocker this morning after my nightshift and as instructed poored the whole bottle down the sink, nothing happened leaving quiet a bit of the stuff in the actual sink after it filled up the pipes.

Been checking if every coupel of hours, nothing really happened so was getting really frustrated, but just checked again and it's all gone, and sink isn't blocked anymore, hooray!

So the mr muscle stuff needed well over 12 hours to sort the problem, but it's done the job in the end.

Thanks for all the tips and advice guys. much appreciated.

Glad it worked, used it a few times on blocked sinks and when left it works wonders.. Depends on the blockage I suppose but bethroom stuff is typically going to be hair etc
