spent today putting the rear suspension back together but have hit a problem! i bought some AVO shocks and poly bushes from ACT, the problem is that the new polybushes on the lower wishbone have an outer flange/lip compared to the OE metalastic ones, this seems to be reducing the gap that the hub sits inbetween the lower wishbone by about 6mm and i can't get the bottom of the shock in, its not even close and even if i could compress the bush on the bottom of the shock there is a metal sleeve which won't compress. apart from taking a hacksaw to the bush i can't see a way around or have a got the wrong bushes?

Pretty sure I had that last year when I changed my bushes at back.

After lot of persuasion and grease managed to get them to fit

I had to trim the plastic part of the bush on mine, but I didn't cut any steel. Still a bit difficult to fit though, even with coppaslip and a large hammer.

Just finished the second side on mine, new wishbones, shocks and springs.

It was a struggle, but plenty of grease and a big hammer did the trick, I had to make sure that the outer front wishbone bolt was F tight before I had enough clearance to fit the shocker.

I had to cut the old shocks of with a grinder as the old bolts had seized into the bushes. Didn't expect a grinding wheel to disintegrate on me though. Glad I was wearing eye protection.

i would expect the bush to compress and squeeze in but i just can't see that the metal sleeves are going to give so easily!

I had the same problem, i buffed then down which was a lot easyier than trying to hacksaw them and the inserts. After taking about 4-5mm off i managed to slip them in.
