Great to see so many amazing cars, all owners and enthusiasts admiring all the the machines and just getting on,exchanging stories and gossip.
Big Big thanks to dazren for taking me for two runs in his lovely 996tt, 182mph with us in the car was so impressive.
Had a nice run down with rods (rob) in the LP roadster, and he still has the same silly smile on his face that he did when I got it for him so thats good.
Was quite funny as before the lp's engine had even cooled down while people were still acknowledging its arrival, the gorgeous 670Sv of Traxx had parked up a few feet behind us, I then understood it was going to be a good day!
Lovely to see faces of the people who i've read in the magazines (David yu in particular as his scribes from his time with the 360 spider helped make me buy my first ferrari at the end of my old career, still too gay to track mine though )
Simons Lp640 was nice to see in the flesh as i've lived its trials and tribulations in the magazine for some time now, so again I was happy!!
Now, for all the amazing cars that were there, the exotica that looked very gorgeous and would cause you to pull out of the way if they came within 100 yards of you on the motorway, the surprise car of the day in my book went to the 9f convertible that really did look 'stock'. 222mph tells its own story!!
We decided to shoot off when the impromptue lunch break was called, Rob did very well to resist the urge of nailing the Roadster down the runway on the way home, (as i'm the man who has already two buyers trying to prise the Lp from out of Robs grip, I must admit to looking at him as we were exiting the bottom corner, seeing the the little glint of micheif in his eye mid corner and then shouting at him 'dont you F***ing dare, I dont want film on you tube of this thing hurtling down the runway at 200 as I'm selling as concours'
He kept it to 100mph, probably more out of respect to the organisers (very well done by the way, really nice people) than to my plee!
I experienced 'The Fear' on the M1 as rob was trying to text people back at the runway about something we saw as we left, the combination of Iphone touch screen and robs jumbo sausage fingers trying to hit the iphone's chippalata finger sized buttons gave me more than one heart in mouth moment! I am currently trying to source rob a 42"plasma screen for his fingers to text on.
I cant wait to attend as spectator again, and hope to get a few of my clients/friends to bring some of their cars as its a day that I had never thought would be as entertaining as it was and with a real great bunch of people of which to talk about cars!
