My front splitter lived up it's name at Vmax yesterday and split ! At 160 it makes a very loud bang as it was ripped off and snapped in three bits, with just the ends left bolted to the clam, the middle three foot was nowhere to be seen.

So, is it worth replacing it and if so, how much are they ?

I did mine at VMAX years ago. With and without I got 160mph every run. I think they were £175+vat unpainted a couple of years ago if you really want one. My replacement is sat in the garage. I never put it on.

Thanks matey - I am wondering if it's worth bothering about. I got 166 every run yesterday. It came off on the 3rd run I think and made no difference at all - 166 for all remaining runs.

I also have one in the garage that I bought before Xmas of some chap on eBay who made a few from his original as a hobby. Paid £125 and collected it. Never fitted on the M400 as aways wanted a 2 piece splitter.

It's back gel coat and will eventually sell it when I tidy up the garage.

Congrats on the 166mph - what was it like wobble

It's not too bad once you get used to it, but it does feel very light at the front, with or without the splitter.

But it was one of the slowest cars on the day, but then I suppose the 911s/Lambos/M5s/GTRs and are built much more for top end than the Nob. The best was 220 by a 9ff with, wait for it, 1150bhp !! It does, so I heard the owner say, 100-200 in around 4.8 seconds.

Are you sure it's not just the surface at Brunters you're feeling? Those tar filled cracks do push the car around a fair bit and mine felt exactly the same at 180mph as it did at 160mph.

It's true the surface is not very good and seems to be getting worse. One side of the track at the start was in such a state it was coned off. I was travelling at 170+ as a passenger and it felt very different, but then it's hard to tell what the driver is feeling.
