Check the emergency release handle(s) is in the correct position (remember the drivers side has two). If its not and the lock is partially engaged the door may appear closed but it can sprig open on the move. If the problem is electrical ie you can hear the solenoid actuating not sure where you would look but I would start with the door modules in the footwells

Mine did this when new - rather alarming. But never repeated after I reset the door ecu. Yours may have had some water or condensation in it perhaps which was prob with mine.
Easy fix - the ECU's on the left hand side of the passenger footwell. Just disconnect it for at least 30secs, then reconnect. This resets it, and it remembers its function in life.....

DOOR ECU situated in the drivers bay near clutch fluid container. Happened to me, drivers door kept opening when moving. The drivers door ECU had to be reconditioned. well this problem has reared its ugly head again, have swapped ecu's but still not right, if i press door release on my side or under mirror nothing happens but will pop open if trying to drive it so am stumped again. im wondering if it thinks its immobilised and is it worth unplugging the alarm in passenger footwell? why oh why on a sunny day does it give me grief!!

Funbobby, i remember the passenger side door/window ecu doing this, i took the ecu out, removed the screws at top and pulled out the circuit board which had water ingress across the pcb tracks, gave it a clean with switch cleaner left it to fully dry out in the airing cupboard overnight and refitted the next day, all was ok afterwards, have the gremlin's moved across to the driver's door?Whereabouts's in Hert's are you? you are welcome to pop it to my place, i will take a look for you.
Also the windscreen was poorly fitted from new which allowed water to get into the ecu module,this was replaced with a new screen and correctly fitted.
thanks tamster im based in hemel, thing is i switched ecu's over and still drivers side does it so pretty sure its not that? last time i had this unplugging it seemed to resolve it but buttons are dead this time and pops open when it feels like normally as sonn as i turn the ignition on. not sure if an earth fault, i had to unplug dash ecu the other day and maybe somethings been knocked but have had a good look and there is nothing obvious i can see.

Funbobby, sound's like the button that open's the driver's door has become jammed on and is confusing the Ecu, open circuit the button by chopping one wire to it and see if normal service is resumed, will be a minor niggle for sure, life would be so boring if everything worked properly!Apart from that is everything else working ok?

having looked again today when the ignition is on pressing the window buttons triggers the solenoind but not the button itself also moving the gear stick sometimes triggers the solenoid so thinking poor connection somewhere? does stereo have to come out to get to that side of switches? dash faults have come back intermittently again which is very frustrating. have a mate who works in hitchin high st so maybe will pop over sometime, thanks again.
