Quickie - Gallardo Oil Level & Owners Manual...
Discussion
Just a quick question, i didnt get an owners manual when i recently bout my Gallardo, and thus cannot figure out the complet oil checking porcedure!
Anyone fancy checking their manual and letting me know the method, & where the min & max levels are on the dipstick? It just has 3 dot on it?
And if anyone has a spare owners manual for a 2004 Gallardo, or knows where i can buy on it would be great!
Cheers

I normally check mine after a drive. Keep the car reving to 2000 rpm for 2 mins, then with the engine still running check the dipstick, I normally make sure the oil is just below the top hole(max). The engine needs to be running as it's a dry sump. Doing it with the engine off will give you a false Reading.
the manual states to run the engine at 2000 rpm for 1 minute (with the engine as hot as possible) then switch the engine off and check the oil level within 1 minute (you dont need to leave the engine running). As mentioned, there should be a label to the left of the engine bay (handily written in Italian :-)

I have always understood that you leave the engine running on a dry sumped car. As on turning the engine off, the oil would leave the engine. I am happy to be corrected though.Peter101 said:
