Bit similar to the phone one-you recieve phone call "we detected a virus on your computer whilst on our site -we'd like to help you remove it -free ,of course , but we need remote access to your computer ,can you pass on details,or log on to our site and download a cleanup program " - with a strong Asian/polish ( insert another scaming nationality) accent .

It tries to sell you computer security - i found out the hard way - it looked quite official over on teh SV Forum!!

Ive deleted it, but now my desktop shortcuts aren't visible on my desktop, but they do come up when I first start up the pc, but not for long - any ideas??

I went on one of these other night, i was on my sisters MAC, i got of it as soon as i realised what was happening no harm done by looks of it, thankfully.
