Delay in Power delivery - E90 325i Manual

When I accelerate there is a slight delay before the power kicks in..almost like a kickdown on an automatic. It only seems to happen once in that gear almost like it has cleared itself and then when I accelerate again in the same gear, there is no delay or "shunt".

Anyone experienced this/know what the problem may be?

Delay is probably caused by the Drive by Wire system.

I never noticed how laggy it was until i drove a drive by cable car and was impressed at how responsive it felt.
